PUTTING WHOLEHEARTED ATTENDING DEVOTION TO GOD'S WORD

King David knew the importance of God’s word that was why he called his son Solomon and told him this beautiful words of advice “my son, attend to my words; incline thy ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh” (Proverbs 4:20-22). Paying rapt, undivided attention, to the Word of God that comes to you is in your best interest. The same way a pupil or student of an institution of learning is expected to attend to his studies in order to make good grades so God expects of us to give attention to His Word so that we can be successful in life.Many a times you hear Christians get to say I didn’t really understand the sermon, the reason is not far fetch they didn’t give their attention to the Word, they are distracted by other thing. In the parable of the sower Jesus gave the answer to this “as the sower went about sowing seeds, some fell on the wayside and the fowls came and devoured them up: when anyone heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the wayside (Mathew 13:4,19).” This is why most life are empty, not with any sense of direction nor substance, not that the Word didn’t have the power to save but the recipient couldn’t just get focused enough to received the Word because it has now to him become just a speech, some well defined ideology by the preacher put into words.Success in life is not dependent on the number of degrees you bagged in college; it’s in the amount of God’s Word you know and put to work! No demon will listen to you because you have a Ph.D. neither will sickness, disease nor cash crunch bow to anything else except the Word of God. It’s so compulsory for us to give all attention to the Word of God. His Words are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh. The Hebrew word translated ‘health’ is medicine. He’s telling you that the Word of God is medicine to your flesh. If you take the Word into your system, it will produce divine perfect health in you. It will get rid of your migraine headache, it will get rid of the cancer and destroy every unwanted growth in your body. God’s Word is infallible and can meet every need; as you receive it and open your heart to it in faith, it produces for you what it talks about. God’s Word will do a miracle inside you as you give attention to it today.
